Our verdict in brief

Fluffy Favourites is the game the whole series grew from, and it is still the clearest way into it. It is a five-reel, 25-line slot with exactly two features, a pick bonus and free games, so there is very little to learn before you know what every symbol does. It suits players who like a simple base game with one memorable bonus. It suits less well anyone who wants frequent small features or a modern mechanic: Eyecon lists it as high volatility, so long quiet spells are part of the design.

Every figure in this review comes from Eyecon's own page for the game. Where Eyecon offers more than one setting, we say so instead of choosing one.

The return to player deserves a word. It is a long-run average across a very large number of spins, and it depends on the version a casino chooses to run. The same game can sit at 95% on one site and 93% on another, so the rules screen of the copy in front of you is the figure that counts.

The base game

You pick a stake and spin, and matching symbols pay along any of the 25 lines. Two symbols carry the game.

The Elephant is the substitute. It stands in for every symbol except the scatters, and Eyecon states that prizes are doubled when it completes a win by substituting. The Pink Elephant also appears as the scatter that starts the free games.

The Claw is the pick-bonus scatter. Claws count anywhere on the reels, so they do not need to line up on a payline.

The Toybox Pick Bonus

Three or more scattered Claws start the Toybox Pick Bonus, the feature most people remember: a claw machine full of soft toys. You get one pick for each Claw in the trigger, so three Claws give three picks and five Claws give five. Eyecon says each pick can award up to 100 times the total stake. That is the ceiling for one pick, not a typical result, and most picks land well below it.

What we like is how readable it is. The number of picks is visible the moment the bonus starts, and the prize range per pick never changes, so there is no hidden rule to puzzle over. How the other pick games in the series compare is covered in our guide to Fluffy pick bonuses.

The free games

Pink Elephant scatters start the free games: three award 15, four award 20 and five award 25. During the feature, line wins are tripled, and the free games can be retriggered up to 15 times.

The tripling is where most of the game's potential sits. Combined with the Elephant's doubling as a substitute, a single line can pay several times its base value while the free games run. That also explains the high volatility listing: a large share of what the game can return is concentrated in a feature that does not arrive often.

Playing the official demo

Eyecon publishes a free demo of Fluffy Favourites, and you can open it from the panel at the top of this page after confirming you are 18 or over. It runs on virtual credit, so nothing is staked and nothing can be won. The studio's site states that its games are for demonstration purposes only.

Use the demo to see the Claw and Pink Elephant symbols at full size, open the paytable and watch how the pick screen counts your picks. It cannot tell you how a real-money session will go. Our guide on what a Fluffy demo can and cannot show explains those limits, including why the demo's 95% may not match a casino's version.

How it compares with the rest of the series

Most later Fluffy games keep this blueprint and change one piece. Fluffy Too swaps the Toybox for a Coin Pusher, the Fairground uses Hook-A-Fluffy, and Fluffy Favourites Remastered keeps the same features with new artwork. Fluffy Favourites 10 is the closest relative of all, with the same two features on ten fixed lines. The classic Fluffy formula sets the five-reel, 25-line group side by side.

Who it suits

Pick Fluffy Favourites if you want to learn the series from its source, or if you prefer a game whose rules fit on one screen. Look elsewhere in the series if you want more variety: Fluffy Favourites Mix 'n' Win combines three pick games, and the Megaways edition changes the reels completely.

Summary

Fluffy Favourites is a high-volatility, five-reel, 25-line Eyecon slot with a Toybox Pick Bonus from three or more Claws, worth up to 100 times the stake per pick, and 15, 20 or 25 free games with tripled line wins. Eyecon offers it at 95% or 93%. Every Fluffy game we review is listed on our Fluffy Favourites games page.
